A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Sybil Frances Boizelle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dr. Felix Boizelle and Sybil Dupuy Boizelle. A student at St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge until 9th grade, she transferred to the Academy of Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, LA to finish high school and earned her diploma in 1961. It was there she developed her lifelong love of the French language. With a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters in French and a second Masters degree in Romance Languages, she taught French at Episcopal High School for 17 years. She was a member of L'Assemble Francaise, the LSU Foundation's 1860 Society, an avid supporter of the Friends of French Studies at LSU, a reader and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Cathedral, and a docent at the Rural Life Museum. Sybil believed deeply in giving back to her community, was a wine enthusiast, an eager and frequent world traveler and a dear friend to many. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am this Saturday, August 9, 2014, at St. Joseph's Cathedral, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am.
