A resident of Kentwood, he died at 7:33 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Helena Parish Hospital in Greensburg. He was born January 14, 1933 in Pontotoc, MS and was 81 years of age. Survived by four children, William C. Felker, Jackson, Patricia Felker, Kentwood, Jimmy Felker and wife, Janice, Slaughter, and Rebecca Phelps, Chatawa, Ms.; 4 grandchildren, Ryan "Tooter" Felker, Lacey Ducote, Allie Kirkland and Jacob Phelps; 7 great-grandchildren, Donald, Chandler, Chesly, Kimberlynn, Hunter, Carson and Ruby Kate; brother, Neil Felker, Baton Rouge; sister, Betty Joe Busby, Portland, OR. Preceded in death by wife, Polly Dees Newman Felker; parents, William Alvin Felker and Willie Mae Gortney Felker; loving companion, Grace Smith and her daughter, Beverly Jean Smith; 8 brothers and sisters. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014.
