"And Mary said: 'My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed.'" (Luke 1:46-48) On Monday, August 11, 2014, Ophelia "Fee" Christophe-Dixon was called home by her Heavenly Father in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ophelia was born on May 25, 1931, to Celestin Christophe and Nellie Nelson Christophe in Dupont, Louisiana. She graduated from New Roads High School in 1950, then went on to receive a Bachelors and Master's Degree from Southern University in Education. She was a retired educator from Pointe Coupee Parish teaching 20 years at Batchelor High School where she enthusiastically taught History. Ophelia was also a very savvy businesswoman. She was married to her adoringly devoted husband and best friend Earnest J. Dixon for 50 loving years and this union was blessed with one beautiful daughter, Prechelle Lynette Dixon. She will be remembered for her passion of Christ and devotion to her church, her loving affection of family, her diligence and perseverance in the face of hard work and adversity, listening to music, delicious cooking, landscaping her yard, her fierce political discussions and her ability to uplift any weary spirit that came into her presence with just one smile. Ophelia leaves to cherish these memories to her loving husband Ernest Dixon, her devoted and treasured daughter Prechelle Lynette Dixon, (goddaughter's Vanessa Buster, Karen Bailey and Rachel Alexander) and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Celestin and Nellie Nelson Christophe, her brothers, Freddie, Celestin, Albert, Roger, Robert, and Earl; her sisters Doretha Smith, Bertha Guerin, Curley Richardson, and Vernell Bailey.
