He was an awesome man who never met a stranger and changed many lives for the better. A loving father, son, brother, grandfather and companion, as well as an avid golfer and LSU fan, he passed away at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson. He was 53, a native of Port Sulphur and resident of Gonzales. He was the grounds maintenance supervisor at Pelican Point Golf Course. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, Nov. 12, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon M.P. Sammartino. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Gonzales. He is survived by his inseparable companion, Faye Nettles, of Central; father and stepmother, Edward E. and Doylene Bergeron Girouard, of Gonzales; a daughter and son-in-law, Brynn Girouard and Zachary Lamb, of Bradford, Ark.; a son and his fiancée, Josef Girouard and Tiffany Nettles, of Central; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyle and Elizabeth Girouard, of Lafayette, Dane and Sharon Girouard, of Gonzales, Randy and Pam Girouard, of Tulsa, Okla., and Brad and Starlet Girouard, of Gonzales; and five grandchildren, Brooklyn, Andrew, Camryn, Landon and Tanner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deloras Benandi Girouard; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lucille Benandi; and paternal grandparents, Frank and Olfida Girouard. Pallbearers will be Josef, Lyle, Dane, Randy and Brad Girouard and Zachary Lamb.
