A retired carpenter and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospice Butterfly Wing. He was 79 and a native of New York. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S. Harrell's Ferry Road, Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by the love of his life, Jean Dawson; five children, Cathy Aldrich, husband Chris, and their children, Jennifer and Colin; Dorothy Rispoli, husband Tulio, and their four children, Nicole Rispoli Atkins and husband Robert, and their sons, Christopher and Sean, Christina Rispoli Squilla, husband Vincent, and their son, Vincent Jr., Tulio Rispoli Jr. and Anthony Rispoli; Sandra Spragis and her two children, Angela Nicole Flowers and her daughter, Isabel Nicole Flowers, and Air Force Sgt. Michelle Antoinette Spragis; Samuel Spragis, wife Carrie, and their children, Samuel Joseph Spragis and Sara Spragis; and Robert Spragis, wife Meg, and their children, Robert Spragis Jr. and Calee Spragis; grandchildren, Kia Henderson and Shani Franklin; and brother, Arnold "Cookie" Spragis. Also survived by two stepchildren, Tracy Abbate, husband Frank, and their son, Nicholas; and Daniel Dawson, wife Jennifer, and their daughter, Gracie Anne Kimberly. Preceded in death by his wife, Ann Spragis; daughter, Suzanne E. Spragis; parents, Sam and Florence Daly Spragis; and sister, Diane Gunther. Pallbearers will be Daniel Dawson, Anthony Rispoli, Leo Innerarity, Darryl Dietrich, John LaGrange and Arloe Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers are J.B. Teston and Robert SeGall and Lionel Hotstream.
