Lorraine Comeaux James entered this world Aug. 23, 1931. A native of Addis and a resident of Denham Springs, she died peacefully in her sleep at 11:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at her son's home in Walker. Her sweet smile, gentle ways, kind heart and powerful prayers will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Rodney James, of Baker, and Randall and Katie James, of Walker; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lynley and Matthew Langlois, of Greer, S.C.; Amy James, DVM, of Henderson, Nev.; and Priscilla James Short and Anthony James, both of Walker; great-grandson, Braydon Short; sister and brother-in-law, Jennie Comeaux and Warren Ballard, of Denham Springs; and brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Priscilla Comeaux, of Brusly. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo E. James; daughter-in-law, Bobbye Davis James; and parents, Macy Anthony and Jennie Lazzaro Comeaux. Special thanks to the loving staff of Doctor's Hospice of Walker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge or Doctor's Hospice.
