A resident of Zachary and native of Baton Rouge, he died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at age 67. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Monday, Feb. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at The Rock Church, Zachary, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Rocky Bezet. Burial in Azalea Rest Cemetery. He was a certified welder at Georgia-Pacific Port Hudson for 35 years and a member of USW Local 1334. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Carol B. Bergeron; a daughter and son-in-law, Chantel B. Ingraffia and husband Philip "Chuck" Ingraffia, of Loranger; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Bergeron Jr. and wife Deirdre "DeDe" Day Bergeron, of Zachary; a sister and brother-in-law, Terri B. Klingman and husband Ronnie Klingman, of Watson; grandchildren, D.L. Vicellio, Philip Ingraffia III, Luke Ingraffia and Jake Ingraffia; and a great-grandchild, Shyenne Vicellio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Joan L. Bergeron; father, Murphy J. Bergeron; mother, Ruby Bergeron; and brother, Murphy J. Bergeron Jr. Pallbearers will be D.L. Vicellio, Philip Ingraffia, Luke Ingraffia, Jake Ingraffia, Grant Carr and Blake Carr. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Research Center, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
