Lois Brown Boesch, 89, a native of Tangipahoa Parish and a resident of Hammond, LA passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Raised in Tangipahoa Parish, Lois left at the age of 16 for New Orleans, where she met her husband, John Emile Boesch. After 5 years and starting a family, they moved to Baton Rouge where she started her 25-year career with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board Food System. After her retirement, she began working with genealogy. She was part of the founding members of Cajun Clickers and for years volunteered at the Downtown Library doing genealogical research. Lois loved and adored her family and "adopted" anyone who entered her home. Her open door policy and her desire to entertain enabled Lois to have "many families in many places." She is survived by her children: John Robert Boesch and wife Lynn, Linda Breitling and husband James, and Martha Boesch; grandchildren: Brian Boesch, Brett Boesch and wife Tina, Kevin Boesch and wife Beth, Drew Breitling and Lauren Breitling; great grandchildren: Ian Boesch, Lois Boesch, Micah Boesch, Chloe Boesch, and Max Boesch; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded by her husband, John Emile Boesch; parents, Chester and Corrine Calmes Brown; and brother, Hillman Brown. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
