Vita Deliberto Graziano Alfano, 100 years old of Hammond, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, February 7, 2013. She was born on Thursday, January 2, 1913, in Hammond. Mrs. Alfano was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She was the former owner of Graziano Grocery Store. Mrs. Alfano loved cooking for and taking care of others and enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and plants. Surviving are her step-son, Pascal Alfano; nieces and nephews, Rosemary Napoli, Joseph Mele, Vincent L. Deliberto, Virginia Ann Kelley, Carlo J. Deliberto, and John Deliberto; great-nieces and great-nephews, Victor Napoli, Gerard Napoli, Patricia Imes, Connie Leger, Kirk Napoli, Lisa Miller, Charles Deliberto Jr., Vency Achord, Vincent Deliberto, Vicci Johnston, Mickhael Deliberto, and Joey Deliberto; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Grace Demarco Deliberto and Charlie Deliberto; 1st husband, Frank Graziano; 2nd husband, Oscar Alfano; step-son, Jamil Alfano; brothers and sisters, Vincent Deliberto, Celie Mele, Johnny Deliberto, Sam Deliberto, and Ciro Deliberto; and nephew, Charles Deliberto. Friends will be received at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond, Monday, February 11, 2013, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in the church.
