A native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, he died at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his home. He was 91. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Military honors will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church by the United Veterans League. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mae H. Duet; daughter, Shirley Tregre Wilkinson, Denham Springs; grandchildren, Hope Dunaway, Denham Springs; James Daigre III, Denham Springs. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred V. Duet; parents, Xavier and Julie Callais Duet; stepson, Leonce R. Orgeron; and brother, Linton A. Duet Sr. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a third and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, DAV, VFW and American Legion.
