Ronald Emil 'Ronnie' Harris Obituary
Ron loved life and will always be remembered for that hallmark shining smile and unmovable faith in his Christian walk until his Father called him peacefully home on Saturday morning, September 7, 2013 at the St. Joseph Carpenter House (family at his side). Ron was 52 years young and a native of Oklahoma. He last resided in Rock Wall, TX until moving to Prairieville, LA in 2012 in order to have the love and support of family during his illness and medical treatments. He was a faithful member of the Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, in Dallas, TX and participated in the I B Foote Crusaders male choir. He continued his faithful walk in Baton Rouge, LA at the Greater New Guide Baptist Church until he was called home to glory. A Memorial Service will be at the Faith AME Zion Church, 3919 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Services will be conducted by Rev. Kenneth York. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas J. Harris and Rosie M. Harris. He is survived by his wife, Nisha Roberson-Harris in TX; Children, daughter Devin Harris of OK; step- son Alex and step-daughter Epiphany both of TX; brothers, Gilbert Duane Harris of MS and Thomas Harris (Teresa) of ARK; sisters, Hazel Kepney and Roseland Starks (Renoldo) of LA; several beloved uncles and aunts; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and loved by many friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during the life and Home Going of our cherished and dearly beloved brother. Special thanks to the God sent medical team for their outstanding compassion and loving care during Ron's final journey to glory.
