Henry Monroe "Big Man" "Foots" Colbert-A native of White Castle and Resident of Baton Rouge. He departed this life on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. He was 80 and was employed by Leblanc Brothers Construction, Delta Southern, and East Baton Rouge Parish School Board where retired in 1984. Visiting at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, Carville on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 5pm until 8pm and on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 9am until religious service time 10am. Conducted by Pastor Alfred Thomas, Interment in Church Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Henry Colbert, Jr. (Faye) and Annette Martin, both of St. Gabriel, LA.; Claudette C. Holly, Lynwood, CA.; Brenda V. Willis (Ronel) Altus, OK.; Lenora Howard, Charlotte Williams (Russell), Lakeecha Howard (Donald), Bessie Dalton, Randolph Breckenridge, Ali Allah, and Reginald Breckenridge all of Baton Rouge, LA. A loving grandson and caregiver, Jeremy Howard who lived with him. 19 Grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. A brotherly cousin Willie Williams, special friends, Bennie Selvage, Travon Brown, and Kim Hayes who he loved like a daughter. Loving nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Beatrice Monroe; aunt and uncle, Flossie and Willie Colbert; wife, Catherine M. Colbert, daughter Michelle, one grand daughter, Oyono Colbert; three sisters, Edith M. Johnson, Corrine Monroe, and Earline M. Whitaker, one brother, James Monroe.
