Dustin was born in San Diego, CA on April 16, 1963 and lived in Hammond, LA for the past 15 years. He took God's hand when he heard his call on January 3, 2014. Dustin attended college for 4 years, trained in medicine and owned several properties by the age of 21. He was a kind, thoughtful person always willing to lend a hand. He loved his family, cooking, gardening and nature, an expert on music and movie trivia and a lover of animals. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother, Sally Bollich; father, David Herring; step- father, Paul Bollich; grandmother, Willie Accardo; brother, Douglas Herring of Dallas; sister, Brittney Shideler and husband Mike Shideler of Tennessee; aunts, Gay Duke and Darlene Guillot; uncles, Milton Duke, John Herring and Tim Herring; nieces, Hannah Shideler, Rebecca Shideler and Olivia Herring; nephews, Scott Herring, William Shideler and Benjamin Shideler. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Irving Duke and Lawton Herring; and grandmother, Mattie Herring. Services will be held Saturday, January 11th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Visitation begins at 10:00 until Memorial Services at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
