Peters Sr., a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a resident of Deer Park, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 1, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. Stephen was a jeweler and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by father Pete Peters, mother Ruth Peters, brother David Peters and nephew Daniel Dell. Stephen is survived by a daughter; Michelle Aucoin and husband Patrick, a son; Stephen M. Peters Jr. and girlfriend Teresa Melton all from Deer Park, Texas. grandchildren; Kaitlyn Sibley, Mallory Peters, Tristen Saltzman and Weston Aucoin; sisters; Carolyn Dell and husband George of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Kathy Gibbs and husband Johnny of Deer Park, Texas; brother Dennis Peters and wife Margaret of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; mother of his children Katie Harris, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Alta Vista Church, 2900 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77504 on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 5:00 PM conducted by Pastor Chuck Lightfoot, with a reception following in the church gym. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the loving care given by the staff at A- Med Community Hospice and also his co-workers at Deer Park Jewelry Factory.

I worked with him back in 1990-1992. Just found out he went to be with God. He was a wonderful person and he loved his children dearly. I know he will be missed.

I will keep your family in our prayers! Steve was one of the best people I know. He always made me laugh and made the work day fly bye! One of best Jewelers, he helped me out of many jams. Miss you and love you always my friend!
