Altazan, Verna Lee Hebert A retired clerical supervisor with the Department of Public Welfare with 30 years of service and a resident and native of Brusly, she died at 6:13 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was 75. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, on Sunday, May 13, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, on Monday at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Matthew Dupre. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Milton D. Altazan of Brusly; daughter, Dawn M. Altazan of Brusly; two sisters, Ann H. Martin of Brusly and Catherine H. Cannon of St. Amant; a brother, Wilfred Hebert and wife Rosemary of Brusly; three grandsons, Ryan Altazan and girlfriend Melissa Houchin, Chad King and wife Amanda, and Joseph Crescionne; two granddaughters, Jennifer Altazan Wood and husband Kevin and Heather Altazan; seven great-grandchildren, Mystri Morgan, Rebecca Griffin, Gage Morgan, Kacie Wood, Lisa Wood, Chloe Wood and Caiden King; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Ann Crescionne; parents, Robert A. and Effie Tullier Hebert; a brother, Robert A. Hebert Jr.; and stepmother, Vina P. Hebert. Pallbearers will be Ryan Altazan, Chad King, Joseph Crescionne, Kevin Wood, Billy Hebert and Andy Dupuy.
