Lue Bertha Matthews Bell was born June 9, 1934 to the late Rev. Samuel Matthews and Ann Williams. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home. She was a retired nursing assistant with the State. She loved fishing, singing, and had a great passion for style. Lue Bertha was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church. She sung in the Sr. Choir then later was a member of the Mother's Board. She served faithfully until her health began to weaken. Visitation for the public will be Monday, January 11, 2021 from 10-11 am at Richardson Funeral Home of Clinton 11816 Jackson Street Clinton, LA 70722. Interment in Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery Wilson, LA. Mask are mandatory. She is survived by 6 children Lois Bell Haynes, John Bell, Jr. (Geneva), Idella Davis (Ned) Lori Bell, Theresa and Alonzo Davis, Jr.; 2 Godchildren Ashatea Stanley and Verinetta Harrell; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her devoted companion/husband Alonzo Davis, Sr. parents, siblings and three grandchildren.
