Charles Andrew Worsham

Charles Andrew Worsham, 76, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on December 17, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Charles Worsham, son of the late Herbert and Vivian Worsham, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffani Leigh Worsham, his two sisters, Joy Worsham and Sunshine Watson. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Vickie May Worsham; his brother-in-law, Hugh Watson, nephew, David, his wife Barbara and their daughter, Leah of Denver and his niece Elizabeth Watson of California. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law of the May family. Charles graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana where he studied political science and history. Charles spent the majority of his career in the banking industry and retired as CEO of The Louisiana Bankers Association in 2000. After his retirement, Charles and Vickie moved to the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina where he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, the outdoors and landscaping. Due to Covid, there will be no service at this time. Donations can be made in his name to St. Jude or to The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Charles. I went to school with Charles at Fair Park High School. I was a year a head of him. He was in my wifes class, Carol Stockton Blake’s.(1962). Praying for the family.

We enjoyed many years of friendship with Charles and Vickie when we were both in Baton Rouge. We enjoyed visiting them in North Carolina and Northern Georgia too. Lots of fun. Charles was a hard working guy and a very attentive host as was Vickie. It is hard to realize that we are at the stage of loss of friends but it is the time for grieving the loss of sweet times in the past. God will take good care of his son, Charles, and we can be blessed with good memories.

Charlie was a great guy to work with. During his tenure the LBA moved forward with a new banking code and legislation providing for interstate banking, followed by intrastate banking. Charlie created a good work environment, but his main attribute was his love for Vicki and Tiffani.
