Frankie Moore Johnson began her Heavenly Journey on June 2, 2021, at the age of 96. Frankie was born on May 9, 1925, in Henrietta, Oklahoma to Stella and James Franklin Moore. She was one of 13 children. Being a child during World War II and the depression taught her many valuable life lessons she built on throughout her life. It made her strong, graceful, talented, intelligent, creative, courageous and loving. She married Oscar Johnson on D Day, June 6, 1944. They settled in Crowley, Louisiana in 1949 where they lived until her move to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2015. While in Crowley she joined the First United Methodist Church where she served on many boards and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She remained a member of that Church. During the Pandemic she enjoyed live streaming church services.... she never stopped learning. Frankie enjoyed many passions in life including ballroom dancing with her husband, sewing, competing in the shooting competition for the Senior Olympics and teaching crafts to children at the Crowley Recreation Department. She also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Dancing with The Stars and the Lawrence Welk Show. Serving as a member of the Pink Ladies at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley until she was 90 was a labor of love, and being on the dance team of the Swinging Sixties entertaining at elderly events was the icing on the cake. During her 96 years she touched the lives of so many people leaving a lasting impression of her dignity, humility and poise. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother (Gram), great-grandmother, mother-in-law, friend, and person. She dearly loved her family and friends. What a wonderful legacy. We will always, always love you. Frankie is survived by two children, daughter Diane Johnson Ourso (Milton); son James Paul Johnson (Missy). Survived by 5 grandchildren, Barney Paul Johnson (Lana), Jay Dean Johnson (Catina), Stephen Ray Johnson, Kristi Rojas (Matt), and Brandon Johnson (Whitney); step-grandson, Trey Ourso (Cindy); Survived by three great-grandchildren, Colton Johnson, Mollie Rojas, and Kate Rojas; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Kendall Ourso, Drew Ourso.
