I am so sorry to see the news about Karen. She went to school with my late sister Lisa, and then she and I were neighbors for a few years on Jefferson highway. She was a wonderful person, and I am very sorry that she has passed away.

Karen and I have been friends since the 9th grade at Belaire High School. I will always remember her laugh. She and I would go out to the disco after work at McGees discount. She loved her cats and always drove the speed limit unlike me. Karen would stand up for herself if she thought she was being overcharged. Karen was small of stature but big at heart. I love you and will miss you. Your friend, Nina Scardina

To the family
I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Karen when she first started at the Ascension Parish library in Donaldsonville. She was also my Facebook friend. She will be missed. Keep your hand in God's hand and he will see you through.
