Ora Dee Eli Watkins, 84, of Baton Rouge, LA departed this life on September 9, 2018 at home. Ora, also called "Dee" by her family and friends was born on March 10, 1934 to the union of George Eli and Annie Johnson Eli in Ethel, LA. She was the fifth child of nine children born to this union. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of more than fifty years, Robert Watkins. Two sons, Lee A. Chambers of Baker, LA and Michael (Charlotte) Chambers of Zachary, LA. One sister Dorothy Gray of Baker, LA. Two brothers, Rubin Eli and Joseph Eli of Baton Rouge, LA. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be dearly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Annie Eli, her sisters, Mary Bell Chambers, Hannah Wilson, Emma Jane Fisher, and Nancy Norwood; One brother, Louis Eli, and one grand-daughter Lakeisha Chambers. The funeral services will be held at 11:00am September 22, 2018 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church at 9700 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA with the burial to follow at Mt. Pilgrim Benevolent Society Cemetery.
