Alvine Carscadden Keesing, a native of Jersey City, NJ and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018. She was a retired accountant with Louisiana State University. To all who knew Alvine, our mother was a loving mother always and a fierce protector of her family. She had enjoyed 57 years of marriage to our father (the love of her life), and was widowed for the past 18 years. She was a very active member and elder of Faith Presbyterian Church, and was a member of Istrouma Chapter 162, Order of the Eastern Star. We gave her up to the Lord at the age of 94. Her favorite pastime had been tracing the genealogy of the Keesing family, which she tracked to the year 1666 in Amsterdam, Holland. She is survived by 3 sons: Arthur V. Keesing and his wife Dorothy of Jackson, LA, Harry R. Keesing and his wife Michell of Sorrento, LA, and Jack J. Keesing and his wife Wanda of Melbourne, FL; and by her daughter, Alvine K. Palotta and her husband John of Simpsonville, SC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Keesing; 4 brothers: Harold, Johnny, Marty, and Bill Carscadden; and her sister, Sadie Seward. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 9am until 1pm. Graveside services will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, at 1:30pm, conducted by Steve Wallace. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Keesing, Daniel Bonvillain, Rodney Bonvillain, Dayne Bonvillain, Micheal Keesing, and Scott Palotta. Rest in peace, Alvine, you have enjoyed the good life! The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Nottingham Regional Rehab Center for three years of exceptional care.

Alvine, one of my very favorite people, may you Rest In Peace. Thank you for all of your support and guidance and for being my staunchest advocate while I was Music Director and Organist at Faith Presbyterian. I so enjoyed our talks and thought about you quite a bit recently. I love you very much. I still enjoy listening to the CD you gave me of your husbands piano playing. Thank you, again.
