Velma and Moon was a large part of our lives on S. Bernadotte St in New Orleans. She was part of the glue on our street and we have missed her greatly since she had to move after Katrina. We were lucky to have spent many years with her. Even after she moved she always sent us anniversary and birthday cards. Velma was a friend to everyone and her hard work and stamina kept her going every day. She never stopped working and volunteering. What an inspiration! We became lifelong family members in a way with her daughter and grandchildren. We are blessed to have had her in our life. Those were the days!!!

Family of Velma Moon, your loved one was certainly hand-picked by God on that Sunday evening. She will be truly missed by her Baton Rouge neighbor at Catholic/Presbyterian Apartments. I enjoyed all 7 years of living down the hall from Ms. Velma. Peace and Love,

Doris P. James
