Johnnie Michael ""Mike"" Burnette, a native of Jayess, Ms and resident of Baker, La passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. He was bigger than life, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by: His wife of 49 years, Barbara Lawson Burnette; two daughters, Natasha Burnette Martin and husband Scott, and Seelitta Burnette Young and husband William; two grandsons, Caleb Martin and wife Rachel, and Joshua Martin and wife Jana; one brother, Dan Burnette and wife Linda; one sister, Sharon Merriett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geraldine Burnette. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 13 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm, and funeral services at 10:00 am Saturday, July 14, both to be held at Life Tabernacle Church, Central, La. Burial to follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Jayess, Ms. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge – Butterfly Wing.
