2018
Our beloved Linda Stern Anderson was born in 1953 and transitioned from this life on Monday, July 9, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zaly Stern, Sr. and Zenobia Green Stern. Linda leaves to cherish the memory of her life and legacy: her loving husband, Jimmie; siblings, Cathy Stern, Zaly Stern Jr. (Kim), Vanessa Stern Irvin (Larry) and Eric Stern (Pam); sons, Andre (Natika) and Wade, Sr. (Shalan); grandchildren, Jordan, Cristyn, Kacie, Wade, Jr. and Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who were all dear to her heart. Linda began her career as an elementary school teacher in New Orleans in 1977 and ended her career in Scotlandville, LA. She earned a Bachelor's in Education to begin her career and later earned a Masters, receiving both degrees from Southern University at New Orleans. Linda was not only committed to secular education, but one might argue that her true passion was spreading the Gospel of Christ. If there is one thing she would want you to remember about her, is that she was a Child of God and a Disciple of Christ. Family and friends are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration Service on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Household of Faith Church, 2074 Paxton Street, Harvey, LA for 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Marc Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. Guestbook Online: www.anewtraditionbegins.com (504) 282-0600. Linear Brooks Boyd and Donavin D. Boyd Owners/Funeral Directors.

To Linda's family and loved ones: There are many former teachers and students from Charles Gayarre/Oretha Castle Haley Elementary School who have a special place in their hearts for this beautiful, dedicated educator. Linda was a leader on the faculty. She led by example, not by words. She was a problem-solver, willing to move from grade to grade wherever extra help and encouragement were needed. With much prodding, she moved out of the classroom to help mentor and guide other teachers. Her leadership extended to the circle of prayer, a group of faculty members who met weekly to pray for our school family and community. I loved this woman. She made all of us who knew her better people and servants. Rest in Heaven, Linda.

To the Anderson and Stern Family:
My heartfelt condolences and prayers are with y'all on Mrs. Linda's transition. She was truly an advocator for Christ and was very influential in my life. Mrs. Linda would always encouraged me to "do the right thing" by her niece and be a God-fearing, righteous man for my family. For this reason, I'm forever grateful to her for believing in me when MANY didn't think it was possible. She was an absolute sweetheart who will be dearly missed by me and many. But rest assure that as I light a candle in her loving memory, her spirit will live in God's paradise for eternity. She'll be keeping a watchful eye on ALL of US until the moment we expire.
