Johnny D. Hood Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA, at 2:22 p.m. A resident and native of Denham Springs, LA. He was a retired brick mason. Visiting at Magnolia Christian Assembly, located at 16425 Magnolia Bridge Rd. and Wax Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA on Friday, August 10, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until service at 12:00 noon, conducted by Pastor Keith Bernard. Burial at Felder Cemetery in Denham Springs. LA. Everyone is invited to the church hall immediately following the service for a meal and fellowship. Survived by his wife, Roberta "Birdie" Hood; mother, Jennie Viola Hood; two daughters, Tracie Mayers and husband Gary, and Charlotte Boone and husband Billy; three sons, Johnny D. Hood III and wife Jami, Jason D. Hood and wife Penny, and Walter Gene Gideon and fiancée Christine Brown; six sisters, Marilu Reed, Loretta Sullivan, Carlene Allen, Yvonne Bernard and husband Pastor Keith Bernard, Gail Nagin, and Cathy Boone and husband Tom; seven brothers, David Hollis Hood and wife Teresa, Kenneth Paul Hood and wife Sheila, Michael Ray Hood and wife Audrey, Bobby Nagin, Danny Nagin and fiancée Laura, Don Nagin and wife Liz, and Eddie Nagin and wife Dayna; seventeen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Johnny D. Hood Sr.; mother, Norma Tate Hood; daughter, Tammy Young; and sister, Narvis Jean Cutrier. He was a member of Magnolia Christian Assembly.
