John Alfred Oubre Jr. joined his heavenly family on February 4, 2019 at the age of 84. He was married for 58 years to his beautiful and loving wife, Lenore, who recently passed away. He was a native of Garyville, LA and a resident of Paulina, LA. He is survived by his four children, Karl Oubre, Kent Oubre and wife Rosalie, Lisa Oubre and Lori Oubre Borne; Grandchildren, Megan Oubre, Dylan Lassere and Brienna Oubre. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Alfred Oubre Sr. and Loretta Duhe Oubre; Sisters, Oney Bush, Mildred LeBlanc, Theresa Rapollo, Rita Boutte and Lorraine Dawson and one grandson, Blake Lassere. "Big John" was a retired car salesman. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a very humble and kind man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses, aides and staff of Chateau St. James and Clarity Hospice for their care and compassion. Visitation will be on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the Church with burial following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Paulina, LA. Rose Lynn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
