From a current LSU nursing student, I won the Lynne Truxillo Memorial Scholarship last year by surprise. I told my interviewers that I want to pursue a career in mental health and at the end of my interview, I pleaded that they pick students from my cohort for any of the scholarships being offered due to the financial strain covid put on us. I did not know this was a scholarship and the interviewers were surprised by my plea and interest in mental health and awarded me this scholarship. I see she was very loved and caring and I can't tell you how much it humbles me to be awarded a scholarship in her name. I hope one day I can advocate for my peers and bring happiness to others as she did. Thank you for being such an inspiration. I will never forget you.

Sincerely,
Future Mental Health Nurse

I don't know Lynne or her family. As a Registered Nurse, this news touches so many of us in this profession. We are called by God to heal and take care of his people. She was doing just that. She answered God's call to help and for that, she will forever live in his glory. Entrusted into God's care too soon. He obviously needed a partner to help heal from above. He handpicked Lynne because she was obviously the best. My prayer for her family is that he sends strength, peace and understanding to all.
