Richard "Rick" Evans, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 surrounded by family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was a resident of Gonzales and native of New Orleans. Rick was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He was Co-Owner of Best Catered Events, Catering Supervisor for Ourso Funeral Home, and Support Team Member for Fringe Hair Salon. A simple man, with lots of love for his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kindness and great work ethic. Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne; two daughters and sons in law, Wendy and David Chapman and Kasey and Dustin Quibodeaux; his four wonderful grandchildren, Bailee "Booter" Chapman, Dylan "Dyl-Pickle" Chapman, Ty "T-Man" Quibodeaux and Evans "Whitie" Quibodeaux; sister and brother in law, Leslie and Paul Barrios; a brother and sister in law, Walter J. and Ginger Evans; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Elzy and Mary Jane Dingey Evans. A private service was held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Marty Hughes, and all our family and friends for their support. Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales in charge of arrangements.

I was totally shocked to hear of Mr Rick's passing. I loved him. I worked with him and Diane briefly and he was always great to his employees. He will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family.

So sorry for your loss. Rick was such a great friend. Always so enthusiastic at everything he did. He introduced me to the game of golf and in turn I put him on fishing. He will be greatly missed. May God give all the strength to your family through this time of sorrow.
