He was retired in advertising sales for The Advocate newspaper, a native of Lake Charles and a resident of East Feliciana Parish. He died at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his residence. Hugh was 76. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mary Patricia Keefe Broussard; his daughter: Mary Elizabeth Broussard Wampold; his son: Kent Thomas Broussard; three grandchildren: Catherine Broussard, Elizabeth Broussard and Andrew Joseph Pizzo, Jr.; great-granddaughter: Alyssa Broussard; nephews: Larry Thompson and Ricky Thompson; niece: Susan Cooper Kelley. Hugh was preceded in death by his daughter: Catherine Ann Broussard; father: John E. Broussard; mother: Lelia Lee Riddell Broussard; sister: Harriet B. Cooper; brother: John Broussard. He loved to travel, good books and fishing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge or St. Joseph's Academy Foundation.
