Ronald L. Small passed away suddenly at his home in French Settlement, on March 6, 2018. He was born in Paducah Kentucky on May 2, 1943. He moved with his parents to Louisiana at a small age. He graduated from Denham Springs High School in 1961 and then graduated from Southeastern LA University in 1965. He retired from school teaching and coaching for 25 years. He also retired from the BASF Corp in Geismar, Louisiana as a Process Operator. He is survived by his wife of 31 years to Aylene Small and children Kelly small and wife Nihal, Jeff small, Holly Lorio and husband Brett, Debra and husband David Delatte, Michelle Gascon; sister, Diane Oliveaux and husband Bobby and numerous grandchildren. Ronald was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with friends whenever he could. Visitation will be held AT St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15710 Hwy 16 in French Settlement on Friday March 9, 2018 from 10 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, Burial will follow in French Settlement Community Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneral.com

I am so sorry for your loss. Coach Small was my basketball coach at Southside Junior High all 3 years plus he taught me Health my 7th grade year. He was amazing an coach and man. May God be with you and your family.

So sad to learn this news today. Ronnie and I were at Southeastern together. I enjoyed watching him play basketball for the SLC Lions and we shared several classes together. He was the nicest guy and we had many laughs together. Rest in peace,dear friend.
