Claude Mabry Ray, Sr., born on June 22, 1932 went to his heavenly home on February 12, 2020. He was 87. Claude served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He went on to further his career as a boilermaker welder until he retired from the Boilermakers Union Local 582. He loved his family, was a friend to many and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed attending church and Joy group fellowship at the First United Pentecostal Church in Denham Springs. He was quick to crack a joke, was successful in gardening and always enjoyed an opportunity to go fishing. He will be missed dearly by his multitude of family and friends. Claude is survived by his sons, Earl and wife Daralyn Ray, Darryl and wife Kay Ray, Claude, Jr. and wife Kellye Ray; daughters, Pamela and husband Dwayne Franklin, Charissa and husband Joseph Buckley; grandchildren, Jared and Delicia Ray, Chris and Amber Ray, Shandale Ray, Cobie Ray, Madison Ray, Chelsey Constanzi, Miles and Sarah Holley, Landon and Morgan Franklin, Cameron Franklin, Mckenzie Franklin, Colton Ray, Kirsten Ray, Caitlin Ray, Sage Thames, Navy Thames, Story Thames, Allyson Buckley, Livi Buckley, Miranda Buckley and Catherine Buckley; great grandchildren, Bryson Ray, Brooklynn Ray, Carson Ray, Millie Holley, Mary Jane Holley, Hayes Franklin, Hendrix Franklin, Aria Smith and Alexa Constanzi; siblings, Giles Ray, Paul Ray, and Gloria Ann Ray. He is also survived by the Prokop family; Barbara and Craig Thibodeaux, Jules and Beth Prokop, Michael and Debbie Prokop, and Alex and Kim Prokop. He was preceded in death by his loving and dedicated wife of 44 years, Marie Coludrovich Ray, his loving and dedicated wife of 13 years, Helen Prokop Ray; granddaughter, Sarah Ann Ray; parents, Egbert E. Ray and LouElla Wiggins Ray; siblings, Mary Walker, Margaret Ray and Samuel Ray. Pallbearers will be: Jared Ray, Chris Ray, Cobie Ray, Miles Holley, Landon Franklin, Cameron Franklin, Colton Ray, and Sage Thames. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bryson Ray and Carson Ray. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Saturday, February 15, from 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow on the grounds of Evergreen Memorial Park.
