James Colin "Jimbo" "Jimmy" "PewPew" Burns, danced into eternal joy on March 14, 2013. He was a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of "Bucktown" Metairie, LA. Jimmy was an avid cajun and zydeco dancer. His favorite dance floors were Tipitina's and Rock'n'Bowl. Restoring beauty to the Blessed Mother Prayer Garden and volunteering in the cafeteria at the Saint Louis King of France School, where he was affectionately known as the "Chicken Man," were also favorites of his. He is survived by his wife, Mary Maniscalco Burns and his son, John Jeffery Burns. He is also survived by his five brothers, Hugh, Dunning, Kent, William and Herman Jr. and four sisters, Eleanor Darce, Ruth Reed, Mimi Silliau and MaryAnn Burns-Gaitan. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Herman Sr. and Ruth Dunning Burns and his sister, Janice Roberts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:00am at Saint Louis King of France Church, 1605 Carrollton Avenue, Metairie, LA 70005. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given to the Saint Louis King of France Blessed Mother Prayer Garden Fund.

Jimmy's passing has left a huge ache in my heart. He was my dear friend....I loved his unique perspective of the world about us. I will miss that special person of Jimmy Burns. God bless John, Mary and Jimmy's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
