Graveside services for Johnnie E. Callahan will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, conducted by the Rev. T. June Wilder. Johnnie was born on April 25, 1924 in Roda, VA and departed from this life on Thursday, September 19, 2013. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, listening to classical music, working crossword puzzles, and being with her beloved boxer dogs, Sister and Holly. She is survived by her daughter and son, Melissa and James P. Callahan, a brother, two sisters, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and special friends, Carole Boudreau, Carol and Jessika Dixon. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James A. Callahan, parents, Earl and Verdella Estep, a brother and Sister and Holly. Mrs. Callahan's loveliness, wit, charm, warm sense of humor, intellectual insight, laughter and her pride in and devotion to her beautiful daughter and handsome son were always evident in her sweet smile as well as the wisdom of her words and her soft touch.
