Carrie Darlene Dees Cummings, died on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was a resident of Jackson, LA and a native of Centreville, MS. She was 58 years old. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and continues Friday, March 9, 2018 at Second Baptist Church, Jackson, from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Rev. Clark Fooshee, Ken Ellis and Chris Metz, III. Burial will be in Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson. She is survived by 5 daughters, Karlene L. Cummings, Darla McKenzie and husband, Ronnie; Carla Carraway and husband, Richie; Carrie Blount and Patrice L. Dees. A son, Houston D. Dees and wife, Kacey. A brother, Thomas M. Dees, Jr. and wife, Judy. 13 grandchildren, Makayla, Savannah, Reannah, Olivia, Cheyenne, Alexis, TJ, Jose (Papa), Nick, Maria, Felipe, Robert (BJ), and Courtney. A great grandchild due in September. She is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Emilia M. Blount and Baby Sarah. A great grandchild, Baby Sawyer and her parents, Thomas Sr. and Althea Dees. Pallbearers will be Willie Thompson, Richie Carraway, Johny Dixon, Dewayne Veasey, Chris Metz, Ike Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie McKenzie and Chris Metz, III. The family would like to extend special thanks to Willie Thompson for all the care and concern given to our mother. Also special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for all the care given to our mother and to the staff at the Butterfly Wing for their support during this difficult time. So sorry for the loss of your Mother Houston. She and I started kindergarten together and were friends. She always had such a sweet nature about her. She had a great smile. May God give you and your family peace & strength through this sad day.
