A resident of St. James, he departed this life on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 62 and a native of Donaldsonville. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visitation at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, Donaldsonville, beginning at 9 A.M. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 until religious services at 11 A.M., conducted by the Rev. Carnell Joseph. Interment in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Karen H. Batiste; three daughters; Kendra M. Mayho, Kia M. Mayho and Monica Turner, five sons; Hakeem H. Mayho, Faront'e L. Mayho, Landell D. Mayho, Terrence Gennings and Lloyd Henderson, three sisters; Ceola Jones, Rose Anderson and Hilda Scott, five brothers; Floyd, Rubin, Clarence, Jimmy and Curtis Batiste. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Emily Johnson Batiste, brothers; Herbert and Jonas Batiste, also Louis Coleman, a sister; Joyce Batiste.
