"Our family is a circle of strength and love; founded on faith; joined in love; kept by God; forever together." Betty Toney Young passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the age of 79. She was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on July 11, 1938, and was a resident of Baton Rouge. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David Young. She was an incredibly kind, caring and loving mother to her five children, Patti Arceneaux, Lisa Young Crooks (Whit), Gregory Young, Toni Young Scott (Tony), Alison Young; special family members George Barrington and Linda Young. Beloved grandmother of Amy Beckwith, Alison McGee, Joshua Arceneaux (Britney), Sara Coan (Andy), Grant and Peyton Scott, Sibel Young, Katie and Allie Crooks. Great-grandchildren, Brynn and Alex Beckwith, Brayden Coan, Cade Best and Weston Coan, Natalie, Elisha, Ben, Hazel and Hope Arceneaux and Lane Ducote. Siblings - Gladys Parker, Jewell Toney (Peggy), Bobby Toney (Jane), Faye Foster (George), Ray Toney (Brenda), Royce Toney (Lou) and Cathy Marquis (Greg). Brother-in-law, Landrum Young (Rita). She also had many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Hazel Toney, siblings Ben Toney and Ann Toney Greco, and grandson Jon McGee. Betty was a homemaker, avid reader and an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren for many years. Betty was the most ineresting person and the kindest being I ever had the pleasure of meeting. She came as a package, as she is the Mother of my dear daughter-in-law Toni Elizabeth Young Scott. Our family was fortunate to known her as the Mother-in-Law to my son, Tony Ray Scott whom married this lady's loving daughter. We have lots of Holiday Memories with Betty and David's children and grand children. Remember, Love is the most cherished as are all the beautiful memories. May she live forever in each of our hearts as a true believer of love and kindness to all. Always my friend,
Whom will watch over us from the heavens. Love you my friend.

In the warm and comforting blanket of childhood memories I hold so dear to my heart, Ali, your Mom holds many a thread. So many fun times were had at the Young home by so many of us in the neighborhood. Being so close to the neighborhood pool, Miss Betty always had someone else's kids underfoot and was so sweet and kind to all of us. She fed me countless meals and hosted countless sleepovers. My prayers go out to the entire Young family at the passing of your sweet mother.
