I went to Greenbriar Elementary in 1995 to 2001, and had the honor of having Mr. Denham as my principal. He didn't know me too well but I sure knew him, I would always watch him as he walk the grounds. He was such a strong presence, the first principal I ever had and the best too. I wish I could have gotten to talk to him more and see him after I graduated from Greenbriar. My favorite teacher was Mr. Moore who taught 3rd grade (I was a class clown) but Mr. Denham was my favorite Principal hands down. My last year at Greenbriar was his last year as well, he was retiring that same year. He was a good man and a special person.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Henry Butch Denham.
I meet Mr. Denham many years ago when my sons attended Greenbrier Elementary where he was the Principal. He was always such a kind and caring man. Whenever I ran into him, he always inquired about my boys and how they were doing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. It must be truly heartwarming for his children to know that their Father touched so many lives in such a positive way. Rest In Peace Mr. Denham.

So sorry to hear of this sudden loss. I didn't know him well, but Butch always struck me as such a loving, attentive, and generous parent and grandparent! Reading this, it's clear his legacy of love reaches far beyond his family. I know he will be sorely missed and am praying for the family's strength and peace as you navigate your grief. May the Lord sustain you with joyful memories and the knowledge that he and Mimi are together in heaven, worshiping in the God's presence, and you'll see him there someday! With big hugs, Larkin Pauluzzi

Mr. Denham will always be my favorite principal. When I was in 5th grade we had an assignment to draw a Birdseye view of an area. I decided to draw his office: a cherrywood desk covered in papers. When the teacher (then Mrs. Leonardi) showed it to him, he found it hilarious and said the next time I ended up in his office he'd make me help clean it. The last time I saw him was 16 years ago at my first job at a grocery store. When I spoke to him he instantly remembered who I was. He asked about my twin and my mom. I told him I was a junior at Baton Rouge Magnet High and he said he wasn't surprised I ended up there. I told him I was surprised he remembered me and he said If I ever forget anyone's faces I'll always remember those two: Natalie and Nicole. He will truly be missed. My sincerest condolences to his family; a great man to me had to be nothing short of amazing to you.

My twin brother Jack and my mom and dad were close to the Denham family in our early years in North Baton Rouge. Butch's dad Mr. Denham worked with my dad at Standard Oil and we were involved in the North Baton Rouge Methodist Church and the .Scouting Program. I remember so well sitting on the Denham's porch on Saturday mornings with Butch and his dad . Mr.Henry who may have been the most patient person I have ever known was teaching us young Cub Scouts how to tie a yomen's knot. We learned so much about character and sacrifice from our fellowship with the entire Denham Family.
I would often see Butch in later years at Tiger Stadium with his Scouts. In 1952 my brother Jack , Butch and I escorted fans to their seats as Cub Scouts . What an honor.
Pat you and your entire family are in our prayers tonight and always.
Henry "Butch" Denhan held a doctorate degree in education from LSU and one of his greatest moments was from all the young children who's lives he touched and mentored in the Scouts.
God Bless you my friend.

My condolenses to the family in the loss of Henry Denham, Jr. I attended school with him for years and graduated with he and Paula at Istrouma High School. What fine people they were!! I saw Henry at the Oak Lodge recently when he attended our Istrouma High Class Reunion. He was one of the first classmates I ran into at the reunion. Hard to realize that he and Paula are at home with the LORD. Rest in peace!!!

I remember Mr. Denham fondly from Greenbriar. He used to get me and a friend of mine confused because we were both short, blonde kids always in the same class. Just saw him in Watson Walmart this past spring and he still remembered who I was and asked about how the family was after all these years.

Butch was a terrific administrator and a gentleman.
I worked side by side with him for 15 years at
Greenbrier Elementary and enjoyed every minute
of it. We went through good times and difficult ones
but always found time to laugh.
Becky and David you are truly blessed to have had
Paula and Butch for parents.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love and best wishes to all of you.
