Homer Neil Ashford Jr. born on May 9th, 1971 has peacefully passed at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas on July 7th, 2018 surrounded by his family. Neil was born and raised in Baton Rouge where he graduated in 1989 from Redemptorist High School. He then moved to Texas and began his career in the crane and safety industry. Neil was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Luci Weaver Ashford; two loving children, Hogan and Jaylie Ashford; mother, Joyce Ashford; sister, Mary "Pete" Ashford Cook; brothers, Jimmy Ashford and wife Kim, and Mike Ashford and wife Laynea; nieces, Tiffany Flash, Elizabeth Flash and Kristen Ashford; nephews, Joseph Flash and Scott Ashford; and two step children, Tyler and Maddie Prestridge. Preceded in death by his father, Homer Neil Ashford Sr. and niece, Kathleen Flash. Neil loved to spend time with his two, beautiful kids, coach local kids in sports, go camping with his family and go on cruises. He was an avid LSU Tigers, Texas Longhorns and New Orleans Saints fan. Following Neil's wishes, no services are scheduled. Instead, he would like for everyone to celebrate his life. Neil will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

It brings tears to my eyes every time I see a picture of Neil. He was a great person! He will be missed as a wonderful friend and neighbor. I'll never forget how sweet he always was to Braedon and my fur baby, Nola. Rest In Peace now Neil knowing how much you will be missed.
