A ceremony celebrating the life of Mr. Jesse F. Davis, 102, will be 3 pm Saturday in the chapel of Seale Funeral Home; visitation will begin at 1 pm until the time of service; interment with Military Honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Field of Honors. Mr. Davis was born on September 16, 1911 in Reagan, Texas and departed from this life on Wednesday morning February 5, 2014 at his home in Denham Springs. He was a retired Construction Engineer; served with the United States Army during WWII; received the Bronze Star and numerous other Medals and Ribbons: He went before and prepared the path that General Patton would follow; he was a member of Denham Springs United Methodist Church, The American Legion and Coast Conservation Association; he enjoyed gardening and working (retiring at age 78); had a passion for fishing and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Rooney "Gab" Davis; his daughters Lynette Davis Bigham and Denise Davis Tripp; his sister Faye Davis Stanley; sister-in-law Patricia Copeland Bigham; grandchildren Jeff Garrett Gray I, Taylor Davis Tripp and Todd Ryan Tripp; great grandchildren Jeff Garrett Gray II, Victoria Taylor Tripp, Gabriel David Tripp and Janie Diane Stafford; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents John B. and Meta Tate Davis; brothers J B, Floyd and Bill Davis; sister Mildred Hill; son-in-law James E.
