On September 11, 2018, Mary E. Hunt of Long Beach, MS (age 68) went to join her Heavenly Father. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Etheleen Smith. Mary is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dr. Ron Hunt of Long Beach, MS. She is also survived by her daughter Jill Mason Dunlap of Baton Rouge, LA, her son-in-law Brig. Gen. John Dunlap and Jill's children Olivia and McKinley Grace. She is also survived by her son Tyler Hunt of Long Beach, MS and her daughter-in-law Lindsey and their daughter Rennie Elizabeth. Mary also leaves her stepmother Joyce Smith of Pass Christian and her children David and Teresa, including numerous other family and friends. Mary is a retired nurse who worked in surgery and cardiology before her health forced her to retire in 2011.Mary loved her Lord, attended church on a regular basis, and cherished her dear friends. Mary loved being a wife and mother but her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. Her 3 grandchildren were the center of her world. When she wasn't spoiling her granddaughters, she also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, tending her garden, bird watching and cheering for her "MSU Dawgs!" The funeral service will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Christ United Methodist Church, Beatline Road, Long Beach at 11:00 A.M. where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, 28th Street, Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Christ United Methodist Church, 6121 Beatline Road, Long Beach, MS 39560. Mary was a wonderful person and I am so sad about her illness and ultimate death. I know she was a brave woman and endured so much. I am praying for all the family and I know she will enjoy watching her beloved MSU Bulldogs from up above
