William H. "Bill" Wilson, 88, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Orange Beach, AL and Baton Rouge, LA died on January 11, 2019 after a long illness. Bill was born on February 28, 1930 in Little Rock, AR. He grew up in Alexandria, LA and Baton Rouge, where he attended University High School. Bill served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and later worked as an aircraft mechanic at England Air Force Base in Alexandria. He later graduated from LSU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Hospital Engineer for the Department of Veterans Affairs until his retirement. Bill was married for 60 years to the love of his life, Rosario (Rosie) Gallegos, until her death on April 5, 2010. They had two children, William H. Wilson, Jr. of Plano, TX and Linda Wilson Clark of Germantown, TN, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bill and Rosie enjoyed a long and happy retirement in Orange Beach, AL. After Rosie died, Bill moved to Plano, Texas to be near his son and daughter-in-law. Bill is survived by his son, William H. Wilson, Jr. and daughter-in-law Lisa Wilson of Plano, TX; daughter Linda Wilson Clark and her husband James R. Clark of Germantown, TN; grandchildren Julie Clark Joseph of Red Banks, MS; Jennifer Clark Cochran of Germantown, TN; James Clark, Jr. of Memphis, TN; and Sarah R. Wilson of Plano, TX. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Troy L. Wilson and Mertie Redden Wilson of Alexandria, LA and two brothers, Troy L. Wilson, Jr. of New Canaan CT, and Robert W. Wilson of Natchitoches, LA. Funeral plans are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
