Andrew Dale Shelton, born in Covington, Louisiana on 12/11/61, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday July 28 at his home in Walker, Louisiana from a massive heart attack at the age of 52. Dale was a Godly man who devoted his life to loving his family, friends, and all who crossed his path. He was a graduate of Covington High, SELU, and Xavier University. He worked for Plaquemine PD, EBR sheriffs office, ICU nurse at the BR general, and a CRNA for Anesthesiology group; He was a 2nd Lt. in the army 159th mash unit and deployed for operation Desert Storm the day his first child was born in 1991. He was disabled in 2003 and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and doing God's work. He was an ordained deacon and member of Walker Baptist Church. He was a perpetual member of the Masonic lodge in Denham Springs. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, working with church youth, and going on mission trips. Most of all he loved God, his family and friends, and the many young people that came through our home. He treated them all like his own children and tried to be a Godly role model to all. Visitation will be held at Walker Baptist Church on Thursday July 31st from 5:30-9 pm, with a Masonic service at 7:00 pm, and again on Friday Aug. 1st, from 9:00 am until service at 11:00am. Service will be conducted by Dr. Richard Blue. He is survived by his wife, Terry Mendoza Shelton, Son Joshua M. Shelton, Daughter Casey E. Shelton, mother Patricia C. Shelton, mother-in-law Bertha Mendoza, sister-in-law Maxine Mendoza Clem, and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, niece, and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father LB "Larry" Shelton Jr., and brother Lawrence "Benjie" Shelton III. Dale had an infectious smile and laugh and will be missed by all who crossed his path. In lieu of flowers please mail donations to International Ministries, PO Box 22549, Hilton Head, SC 29926 and indicate it's for Kerith Children's Home in memory of Andrew Dale Shelton. This orphanage was special to his daughter and near to his heart.
