Alice Atkinson Nickens Kent passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the age of 88 years. She was a resident of Denham Springs, La. and a member of First Baptist Church, Baker, La. Alice was a very active member serving in many positions in Eunice Ch 14 OES. Retired from the State of LA with 30 years' service. Survived by Daughter-in-Law, Dee Nickens; Brothers and sisters-in-law, W.C. "Bo" Atkinson, Larry Atkinson (Nelda), Donna Atkinson and Dorothy Atkinson; Sisters and brother-in-law, Sarah Hill, Margurite "Blondie" Brown and Helen "Doodie" Dawson (Ronald); Grandchildren, Angie Lewis (Robin), Drew Nickens, Bobby Nickens (Tracy), Melissa Fontenot (Keith) and Benjamin Nickens (Jennifer); numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family; She was preceded in death by husbands, Norman Wade Nickens and Berlin "Buck" Kent; Parents, A.T. and Mazie Atkinson; Son, Andrew C. Nickens Sr.; Brothers, Alvin Eugene, Walter Joseph, Thomas, and Harry Atkinson; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Nettie and Bick Brashear, Evelyn and Leo Ficklin, Millie and Ron Spruill, Richard Hill and Lloyd Brown Sr; Sister-in-Law, Judy Atkinson. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. until Funeral at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Baker, 3213 Groom Rd, Baker, La. Conducted by Rev. James "Jay" Avance. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery 6213 Groom Rd, Baker, La. Her nephews will stand as Pallbearers. Arrangements by McLin and Manley Funeral Home. (225) 755-9757

Aunt Alice was always a joy to be around. You will be missed. I know that dad, Cecil Nickens, ran to the pearly gates to greet you when your name was announced. Rest in peace.
