Alvin Thomas (Tommy) Richardson, 74, of Sorrento, LA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Tommy was born on February 22,1946, in Lutcher, LA, the son of Royce and Daisy Richardson. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Adam Thomas Richardson and brother, Royce Ray Richardson. Tommy grew up in Sorrento and graduated from Gonzales High School and LSU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) where he worked as an Engineer for many years. He is survived by his wife, Odelia Ann Richardson, three daughters and their spouses, Kevin and Tanya Moore; Lisa Brown; and Ronnie and Rebekah Motichek; his brothers and their spouses, Roland and Rhonda Richardson; Michael and Ann Richardson; Billy Richardson; and Lonnie Richardson; and sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Tommy's greatest joy was his grandchildren, Kenneth Tillman III and Rachel Tillman; Tiffany Hebert; Bryan Conway and Erika Conway; Zachary Adcox; Caitlin Bankston; and his great grandchildren, Madisyn Tillman; Aspen Hebert; and Easton Conway. A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. He will be greatly missed. I worked with Tom for many years. He was always calm, kind and helpful. I developed a deep respect for him; he was a true gentleman, a good engineer, and a good friend. Our world was a better place with him in it.
