Ann Eady Obituary

Heaven welcomed another angel when Dr. Ann Marie Negrotto Eady departed unexpectedly from this world on July 7, 2020, from complications of Covid 19. She was living in Houston, Texas. Ann was born on May 22, 1974, in Metairie, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her father Edward Negrotto. She is survived by her mother Cindy Boyd, stepfather Ronnie Boyd, brother Edward Negrotto and wife Kaci, stepbrothers Brian and Mark Boyd, and godmother Sheryl Guy. She was especially dear to her adoring great grandmother Lelia Simoneaux. She was soon to be married to Alan Hensley who is so very grateful for the precious time they had together. She will be sadly missed by her many extended family members and beloved friends. She graduated from Dominican High School in 1992 and was captain of the Jayette Dance Team. She was a member of the Phils and performed in many Jesuit plays choreographed by Karen Hebert. Dancing was her passion. Upon graduation from LSU in 1997, she attended and graduated from St. Christopher School of Medicine. Ann was the Senior Vice President of Academics at the College of Health Care Professions for eight years. She was nationally recognized for innovative work helping aspiring disadvantaged adults achieve educational success and professional career placement in the medical field. Although Ann is no longer with us, she will always live in our hearts. Spoil your children, love deeply, and forgive. Not sure what to say?

I think of you and the entire family every time I go in or out of my front door. I can blame you sweet girl - your tree is in my front yard. Tuesday morning you encouraged these pink blossoms to pop for the first time. It has brought tears of joy remembering all that have passed.

Even though the family is spread out & doesn't have many get-togethers, you Ann are always on my mind due to your tree in my front yard. It always makes me smile.

Besides all the family crawfish boils & holiday gatherings - I took about 6 or 7 of the Negrotto cousins to Audubon Zoo (packed Bull's big van) and used Cindy & Eddie's Pass. Maybe it's because I want to remember the good parts, but all of y'all were wonderful & we all had a great day!

Omg she was the most amazing woman I ever met. So fun and full of life. I never missed an invite to be with her. She was not only absolutely beautiful outside but on the inside too. She will be forever in my heart and soul.

Ann and I became close friends over the past year. We ruthlessly talked about her upcoming wedding to Alan and we both decided that I would be her sister/bridesmaid when the time came...we also drank a lot of beer that night. Alan and Ann are great people and my boyfriend and I fell in love with them.

Ann was a colleague, mentor and, most importantly, friend. She is a big part of the reason I am still teaching, so all of the students with whom I have the honor to interact can trace any benefit, knowledge and compassion received right back to her. The world lost a real light and inspiration. We all deeply mourn that loss.

Just when I was thinking that our family had been spared from this horrible virus I got the news of Ann passing from COVID 19. There is nothing that be done to fill the empty place she has always had in my heart. Since then a few of her cousins have contracted the virus but with milder cases. The only thing that we can all take away from this is to STAY SAFE STAY HOME and if you have to leave - PLEASE wear a mask!
Ann, may you rest in the hands of God with your father Eddie and his four older brothers. Love you and will miss you, my beautiful sweet niece.
