Barbara Faye Millet Miller passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018 in her Gretna Home surrounded by family. Barbara was born on 9/21/1939. Barbara was married to her loving husband of 63 years, Jerry Ray Miller. She provided a loving homestead for her family, which extended, not only to humans, but also to her dog Lilly and cats, Bo and Cecil. Barbara loved her family, her pets, and had a passion for art. She painted and was previously a member of the WestBank Art Guild in the 70s and truly appreciated the beauty in her surroundings. She was also a Member of the Order of Eastern Star. Barbara was a resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana for 35 years prior to moving back to Gretna. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Eva Millet, son Randal Scott Miller and brothers Billy Millet and Lenny Millet. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ray Miller, her children, Troy Alan Miller (Carolina Scott), Rhonda Rae Miller Savoie (Scott Savoie), Richard Dudley Miller, four grandsons: Charles Alan Miller (Christopher Edward Stokes); Alec Matthew Miller; Blaine Edmond Savoie (Chelsea Edwards); and Spencer Ray Savoie; and two sisters Lucy Millet Pratt (Late Jerry Pratt); and Butchie Millet Martone (Danny Martone). The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice for their kindness and caring of our loved one. However you addressed her: as Barbara; Mom; or MawMaw – she will forever live in our hearts and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12:00 pm with a visitation starting at 11:00 am at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., LA 70815. We will miss your sparkly personality and pleasing laughter; your love of family and animals, especially your pets. My childhood was fuller and better with your presence in my life and though we drifted apart for many years we were happily able to spend time together in our old age. I feel the pain of your loss by your family and the others who loved you as I did, but I know that you are warmly held in our Father's arms with love and eternal life. Rest in peace until we meet again.
