Betty H. Barber passed away peacefully at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband, Gibson "Porter" Barber, Jr. , daughters, Vernell B. Neff, Jeanell Barber, Latosha Rucker (Danton), son, David D. Barber (Carondelette); a grandson she reared as her own, Travis L. Barber, Jr. (Michelle); godchild Denitra Neff-Fields (Traimon); a niece she reared, Belinda H. Folse. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four sisters, and six brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents; Tommie and Ada Hamilton, son, Travis L. Barber, Sr, grandson, David D. Barber, Jr., three brothers, one sister, father and mother-in-law. Religious services will be held at Greater Philadelphia Baptist Church on Saturday, February 20 at 11 a.m. Interment at Heavenly Gates following services. Masks will be required.
