Boyd Shelton, Jr. born in Baton Rouge, passed away July 21st at age 89. He retired from the Electrical Trade Union Local 995 with 70 years of service. Our Dad was a gifted person. The things that he could repair and make using his hands and common sense was amazing. He began by working on bicycles to deliver his paper route in 1943. He then worked on motorcycles, hot rod cars, and model speed planes in his early 20's. There was no end to what he could accomplish. A celebration of his life with be held at Kristenwood, 14025 Greenwell Springs Road, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loretta Bourgoyne Shelton, son Boyd Shelton III, wife Beverly, of Houston, Texas, and son Brian Shelton, wife Mary, of Gonzales. Preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Nina Shelton and daughter, Boydine Ann Shelton. Death comes in it's own time, in it's own way, now it is the time to go home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made in his name to Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
