Brandon Keith Valentine was born on October 6, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA to the union of Gaynell Elaine and Henry H. Valentine, and was called home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX. Brandon accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA, and was baptized by Rev. Theodore J. Jemison. Brandon received his formal education in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. He earned his high school diploma at Baton Rouge Magnet High School in 1982. After high school, Brandon matriculated at Southern University, where he majored in Computer Science. He graduated from Southern in December 1987. After graduation, he was immediately hired by Texas Instruments as a Computer Programmer. This is when he first fell in love with Texas. He later earned a Master of Science Degree in May, 2003 in Software Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Brandon's career in computer science spanned several decades with several IT companies including his last employer, at the time of his death, eQ Technologic. Brandon was beloved by everyone. He never met a stranger. He had a personality larger than life itself - always "the life of the party", always "on stage." Brandon's church membership in Dallas, Texas was at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dr. Tony Evans, Sr. Pastor. Brandon is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edgar L. Thomas, (Mattie P.) and Melba S. Simmons (Milton C.); and paternal grandparents, Sam and Juanita Hamberry. He will be greatly missed by his father, Henry H. Valentine; mother, Gaynell T. Johnson, and stepfather, Walter L. Johnson, Sr.; sisters, Regina A., Kimber L., and Mackenzie R. Valentine; stepbrothers, Walter, Jr., and Erik D. Johnson (Crystal), his uncle, Michael C. Simmons, and step-grandmother, Theresa Johnson. Brandon leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a nephew, friends, and other relatives who loved him dearly. Funeral services in Dallas, TX at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship on January 21, 2022, at 11:00 am. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens in Baton Rouge, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Singing Hills Funeral Home.
