Chapel Service for Charles G (Chuck) Carney will be held 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2018, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Ducote officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, and resume from 8:30 A.M. until the time of service on Sunday, December 9, 2018, in the Kramer Chapel. Charles G (Chuck) Carney, 70, of Walker, died on Thursday, December 6, 2018, in his residence. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles V. and Janice George Carney; brother, Phillip Leo Carney and sister, Angela Carney Townley. "Unless a grain of wheat shall fall." Chuck fought a battle with cancer but God called him home to be in peace and no longer suffer. Charles was born on February 15, 1948, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a simple man. Always concerned about the needs of others and willing to help in any way. To quote one of Chucks fishing partners, "Chuck bored life." Chuck loved being outdoors. Fishing and hunting were his passions, but his family was his life. He had plenty of hunting adventures in Texas with his wife, son, and grandkids. Victoria, Madison and Dylan were with their grandfather when they killed their first deer. He enjoyed many fishing trips in Texas and Louisiana with family and friends. Chuck was able to travel to many countries and experiences many cultures being the son of an army major. He went to Vietnam in 1967. He was a Cub Master and hunter education instructor for 18 years. He retried from Eckerd's Drugs as a regional loss prevention manager. Chuck later retired from Walmart as an assistant manager. Charles is survived by his wife Darlene Wooten Carney of Walker, two children, Jay Carney and wife Nancy of Ponchatoula, La; his daughter, Kim Fore and husband, Bill, of Deville; six grandchildren, Tracie Carney, Haleigh Fore, Dylan Fore, Victoria Carney, Madison Carney, Calleigh Eddings and three great-grandchildren, Georgia, Brenden, and Adyson. Those also left to survive include, sister-in-law, Jenny Carney, and brother-in-lawn, Sheldon Townley and numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck is also survived by his fur children, Larz, Yoda, and Sassy. Pallbearers honored to serve include Phil Carney, Sheldon Townley, Bill Fore, Dylan Fore, Kevin Aguillard, and Bryon Dupuy.
